The year is coming to a close, and tech companies are rolling out their year-end experiences. Just like last year, YouTube Music hasn't officially announced its annual Recap, but it's already appearing on some people's mobile apps.
To check if your stats have arrived, tap the profile icon at the top right of the home page, select Your Recap, and look for "2025 Recap" at the top. If you see it, select Get your Recap to begin a slideshow summarizing your top tracks, playlists, artists, podcasts, albums, genres, and more.
You can save the graphics that appear during the slideshow or share them on social media. There's also a dedicated playlist of your top 2025 tracks, which you can add to your library.
New additions for 2025 include Musical Passport, which shows where the artists you listened to the most are based. Calendar view highlights the days you tuned into your favorite artist.
While we couldn't confirm, some users are also seeing preloaded Gemini prompts about their listening habits. "How did my listening change over the year?" and "Describe my listening as a weather report" are some examples spotted by 9to5Google.
To generate a YouTube Music Recap, you'll need at least four hours of music listening time across YouTube platforms per season, and 10 hours of music listening time between Jan. 1 and Nov. 10, 2025, Google says on a support page. (Google also produces quarterly and seasonal recaps, which is what the four-hour limit is for.)
For podcasts, the minimum requirement is 2 hours. However, only those who meet the eligibility requirements for musical stats can get podcast stats.
Spotify popularized the year-end music recaps, but last year's AI-infused Wrapped left some listeners disappointed. Can it rebound this year? Look for Spotify Wrapped to drop next week.
In the meantime, Spotify recently took a page from Apple by adding weekly listening stats.
