No fooling, April brings some pretty interesting surprises on Netflix. First and foremost, Stranger Things makes a return in animated form, along with a new season of Love on the Spectrum, international movies and shows, live boxing with Tyson Fury, and much more. Here's our guide to the most interesting new series and movies on the streaming service this month.

Sins Of Kujo (April 2)

Japanese legal drama is a new genre to me, but the premise of Sins of Kujo grabbed me in this month's listings. Taiza Kujo is an attorney who specializes in cases the establishment won't touch, including those involving the yakuza. Working in a moral gray area, there's no line he won't cross in order to exonerate his clients, but does he actually have a sense of real justice? It's based on a popular manga series.

  • Stars: Yuya Yagira, Hokuto Matsamura, Elaiza Ikeda
  • Genre: Drama
  • Rating: TV-14

Beef: Season 2 (April 16)

The first season of Beef in 2023 was one of the most anxiety-inducing comedies we've ever watched, as a relatively harmless road rage incident ballooned wildly out of control until it destroyed multiple lives and families. The show is coming back with a whole new cast and situation. This time around, we visit a country club where a young couple inadvertently witnesses their boss and his wife arguing, only for all hell to break loose.

  • Cast: Cailee Spaeny, Oscar Isaac, Carey Mulligan
  • Genre: Comedy
  • Rating: TV-MA
  • IMDb Rating: 8.0/10

Stranger Things: Tales from '85 (April 23)

Feeling somewhat unsatisfied now that Stranger Things has wrapped up? Guess what? Netflix is bringing you back to Hawkins with a new original animated series, Tales from '85, where the original characters are back to being kids again instead of the weird quasi-adults they (naturally) aged into. Set during the winter between the second and third seasons, this is a more "family-friendly" take on the franchise, so your level of interest may vary.

  • Cast: Luca Diaz, Brett Gipson, Brooklyn Davey Norstedt
  • Genre: Fantasy
  • Rating: TV-14
