The summer streaming season is officially here on Netflix, with a ton of new stuff to watch. This month has a mix of returning favorites like Avatar and Outlast, along with new movies and series from around the globe. Also notable is the finale of The Amazing Digital Circus, a viral animated hit that came seemingly out of nowhere to dominate the zeitgeist. Here's our guide to the most interesting new series and movies on the streaming service in June.

The Marked Woman (June 5)

This Spanish detective thriller The Marked Woman follows a pair of police officers who are assigned the case of an amnesiac woman found bound and gagged in a shipping container at the Port of Barcelona. Even though she has no idea who she is or how she got there, it's obvious that there's something serious happening when they get her to a hospital and someone tries to kill her there. It's based on a successful novel.

The Amazing Digital Circus: The Finale (June 19)

One of the best things about the weird world we live in is the ability for creators from around the globe to get their work in front of huge audiences. Case in point: The Amazing Digital Circus, which premiered on YouTube in 2023 and swiftly became a worldwide phenomenon, with the final installment playing to packed theatrical houses earlier this year before Netflix snagged it for streaming. The bizarre tale of six humans trapped in a psychedelic VR torture experiment has inspired terabytes of fan fiction and theories.

Avatar: The Last Airbender: Season 2 (June 25)

In the wake of the disastrous M. Night Shyamalan film, hopes were not high for Netflix's live-action Avatar: The Last Airbender series when it premiered in 2024. Thankfully, it did the source material justice, with a solid cast that tackles a mix of high-flying action, martial-arts philosophy, and political intrigue. Netflix originals often hit their stride in the second season, so we're curious to see how Avatar improves.
