After announcing plans to refresh its mobile interface and launch a new TikTok-style vertical video feed earlier this month, Netflix is now rolling out both updates to users in select countries.

The refreshed mobile app adds a Liquid Glass-like effect to tabs at the top of the home page and reconfigures a few options. The New & Hot section moves to the top, while the Search icon moves to the bottom navigation bar and joins a new section called “Clips.”

As the name suggests, Clips is a scrollable vertical feed of short videos from shows and movies. The idea is to help you decide what to watch or play next, and you’ll see clips from “series, films, and specials tailored to your tastes, with an easy way to go deeper when something grabs your attention,” Netflix says.

Like on Instagram Reels, each scrollable Netflix Clip will have options to mute the video and share it with friends and family. You’ll also see an option to add the show to your “My List,” a list of titles you can bookmark to watch later.

In the future, Clips will add a separate Collections tab to filter videos by genre, such as romance or other interests. It will also begin showing short videos from Netflix-hosted podcasts and live events. This follows Netflix’s deal with Spotify to bring over a dozen podcast shows to the video-streaming platform.

“Our vision is to make our mobile experience as entertaining as what you watch, delivering increasingly personalized, immersive experiences for any mood or moment. This is just the beginning,” says Elizabeth Stone, Netflix’s product officer.

These new features begin rolling out to subscribers in the US, the UK, Australia, Canada, India, Malaysia, Pakistan, the Philippines, and South Africa today. I updated the Netflix app on my iOS device, but wasn’t able to try out the new features right away. So it could be a gradual rollout.

This comes after Netflix raised subscription prices last month. The Standard ad-supported plan went up from $7.99 to $8.99 per month, while the Standard ad-free plan went from $17.99 to $19.99. Premium, meanwhile, has gone up from $24.99 to $26.99 per month.
