Despite the global supply chain and retail challenges presented by COVID-19, Sony is still on track to release the PlayStation 5 in time for the 2020 holiday season.

The PlayStation 5 will be $499.99, while the PS5 Digital Edition will set you back $399.99. Both arrive on Nov. 12 in the US, Japan, Canada, Mexico, New Zealand, and South Korea, and on Nov. 19 everywhere else. Pre-orders have started, though order pages are going in and out of stock.

After months of teases, we finally got a look at the PS5 hardware in June, and depending on who you ask, it’s either a sleek console or reminiscent of a router. What really counts is how it handles games, though, and the PS5 will be sold in two forms: a standard version; and a "digital edition" that nixes the 4K Blu-ray disc player.

PCMag’s Will Greenwald is not in favor of the digital-only version, in part because he likes having a physical game library, but also because today’s top games eat up a lot of space. You’ll have to decide for yourself if having an Ultra HD Blu-ray drive is worth the extra money.

Sony is currently accepting sign-ups for a limited pre-order phase, and top retailers will let you submit your email address to be notified when pre-orders begin. Here’s a rundown of where you’ll be able to pre-order the PS5.
