Ahead of Apple’s Worldwide Developers Conference, the 50-year-old tech giant finds itself, once again, in a transitional period. Last month, the $4 trillion company announced that Tim Cook would step down as CEO, to be replaced by Apple hardware engineering chief John Ternus, effective Sept. 1.
Cook’s departure as chief executive had been strongly rumored since at least late last year, sparking intense conjecture about who would take his place. And that’s the thing about Apple: People (our writers and editors, especially!) love to speculate about the company, whether it involves changes to the C-suite or the colors of the new batch of iPhones. The fact that Apple is famously tight-lipped makes the guessing game all the more challenging—and all the more enjoyable.
It’s in that spirit of fun that PCMag and the rest of the CNET Group websites (CNET, Lifehacker, Mashable, and ZDNET) are hosting a contest to see which of our readers can make the most accurate Apple predictions for 2026.
There will be three rounds of the contest, each featuring five questions. Every answer you get right will earn you an entry in a drawing for the grand prize: the latest version of the Apple Watch announced in September. The more rounds you enter and the more questions you get correct, the better your odds of winning.
The contest’s initial round runs from today, May 19, until 11:59 p.m. PT on June 2.
