Apple has officially released iOS 14, much to the chagrin of many developers who thought they had another week or so to tinker with their apps and ensure compatibility.

If you opted to enroll your device(s) in the public beta, you’ve already had a taste of what iOS 14 has to offer. It’s now time to download the consumer version. But to make sure you’re enjoying the full iOS 14 consumer experience without any skeletons of the beta, let's uninstall it.

Uninstall the iOS 14 Public Beta

I suggest downloading and installing the stable version of iOS 14 first, then removing the public beta profile. Then you avoid having to remove the beta profile, wait for your device to revert back to iOS 13, and then go through the iOS 14 update process.

You should get a prompt to install the stable version of iOS 14. If not, navigate to Settings > General > Software Update > Download and install. Once you’ve done that, getting rid of the public beta version is as simple as removing the public beta profile.

After your device restarts, it will be set up with a clean copy of the stable version of iOS 14 for your enjoyment. Before you start playing around with its new features, though, we'd recommend creating a backup of your device for future use.
