Google is expanding support for digital IDs in Google Wallet to residents of Arkansas, Montana, Puerto Rico, and West Virginia.

They join those in Arizona, California, Colorado, Georgia, Maryland, and New Mexico, who can also add their government-issued IDs to Google's digital wallet.

To add your ID in the app, select Add to Wallet > IDs and pick your state. You’ll then be asked to upload front and back pictures of your ID and complete a face scan. After the ID issuer verifies your application, you’ll receive a confirmation in the app.

“In Arizona, Georgia, Maryland, and New Mexico, users will also be able to use their mobile IDs at the DMV for improved and streamlined customer experiences,” Google says

Google Wallet also now lets you create an ID pass. Real IDs are required starting on May 7, but these passes can help you pass through TSA security at supported domestic airports if you don’t have a REAL ID. However, an ID pass isn’t a replacement for REAL ID, so you must carry the original, Google warns. (Google Wallet also supports passports as a form of backup ID.)

ID passes will also soon be available for UK passports. However, at launch, they won’t be able to get you through TSA security.

Google Wallet is also integrating a new privacy protocol called Zero Knowledge Proof (ZKP) to help you verify your age across various apps and services without revealing your identity. Google will use ZKP for age verification across its products and partner apps like Bumble

Additionally, Google says it is expanding support for Wallet to 50 more countries, though it didn’t say which ones or provide a release timeline.

Apple Wallet, meanwhile, supports digital IDs for Arizona, California, Colorado, Georgia, Hawaii, Iowa, Maryland, New Mexico, Ohio, and Puerto Rico.
