Music streamer Spotify is experiencing issues this morning, with a spike in reports of the app crashing on both Android and iOS.

Reports on Downdetector picked up around 3 a.m. EST and continued through the early morning. On its status page, Spotify says a fix has rolled out to both platforms, but warns it may not work immediately for all users.

Users saw their apps crash when trying to play podcast episodes. The issue wasn't specific to particular shows, and many users were able to listen to music and browse through podcasts.

A spokesperson on Spotify’s Community forums told users to restart their apps if they're still having trouble. If that doesn’t work, Spotify advises people to perform “a clean reinstall, which would also ensure you’re on the latest app version.” That means deleting the app from your device and reinstalling it from either the Apple App Store or Google Play Store.

Also today, Spotify users reported trouble trying to subscribe to the service, while others couldn't load playlists on Spotify's car infotainment systems. Spotify says the subscription issue has been resolved; it's "currently looking into" the infotainment errors.

This comes as Cloudflare experienced an outage this morning, taking down numerous web services, including X, Doordash, ChatGPT, and Anthropic's Claude chatbot.
