Google Maps has returned to the Apple Watch after a three-year absence, offering step-by-step directions on your wrist.

Google Maps first landed on Apple Watch in 2015, but was removed in 2017 with little fanfare. The search giant teased its return last month, and Apple Watch owners can now grab the app from the App Store

The Watch display shows tiled, step-by-step instructions for how to get to a destination, along with arrival times. The home screen has the estimated arrival time for “Current trip” on display, along with travel times to home, work, and more.

To use Maps, you add a new location to your phone app, and then continue your journey on your Watch. You can set the travel mode, whether by car, public transportation, or walking, on your Watch directly. After that you can choose from several possible routes.

The directions are easy to read, in cards with large icons that indicate directions to turn.

Live maps aren’t displayed on the app, and you have to have a good connection to your iPhone to use it, but at least now you can navigate to a destination from your phone to your desktop to your laptop.
