Google had a number of high-profile announcements this week, but Apple Watch users will probably be glad to hear about a smaller upgrade from Mountain View: Google Maps on Cupertino's wearable.

The update rolled out to the Google Maps iOS app this week with a pared-down user interface and buttons for easy access to saved locations like "Home" or "Work."

Directions loaded on your iPhone sync with the Apple Watch to provide immediate guidance on your wrist, according to TechCrunch, which reported support for all modes of transportation—driving, walking, biking, and transit.

A list of recent routes are stored at the bottom of the screen, accessible without looking at your handset.

As TechCrunch pointed out, Google's app is limited to directions; there is no full-color chart, unlike Apple's own Maps program, which offers more functionality on the wearable. Instead, a blue arrow points you in the right direction and displays distance to the next turn.

This marks Google's second app designed for the Apple Watch, following a bare-bones version of Google News & Weather.

This week's app update also comes with a few perks for iOS users, including the ability to compare estimated time of arrival by mode of transportation (will it be quicker to walk, bike, or hop on the train?) and call businesses and get directions from a list of places.

Google on Tuesday unveiled the Nexus 6P and 5X, expected to arrive late next month. The new smartphones—from Huawei and LG, respectively—run Android 6.0 Marshmallow and are available to pre-order via the Google Store.
