Forget smartwatch games downloaded from Apple or the Google Play Store. What if your smartwatch came with an all-time classic preinstalled? You may like the latest My Play Watch, which comes with a custom version of Mega Man 2, built for the small screen.

The odd device is bright blue, like the titular hero, and comes with two different shades of Mega Man-themed straps. The squircle watch face lets you play the iconic arcade game from 1988, but it isn’t the exact version you remember.

My Play Watch says the game experience is “authentic,” using “original sprites, stages, bosses and music… reengineered for fast, one-touch gameplay.” There are two game modes with an auto-running character, and you tap the screen to fire or perform jumps.

The modes are Classic, which lets you select a stage you want to play for a progression-based experience, while Arcade allows you to go through selected stages with increasing speed and difficulty.

It isn’t just for playing the game, though. You can also change the watch face, and there are Mega Man-themed options like original artwork and animations.

There’s activity tracking for steps, heart rate, and calories, with the user interface featuring Mega Man designs on each feature. There’s no word on whether it offers more extensive workouts beyond the basics.

You won’t get a full smartwatch experience here, with the manufacturer saying it allows for a “focused, distraction-free experience centered around play and simplicity.” There are no further connectivity options, so don’t expect to connect to your smartphone or to Wi-Fi.

You can preorder the Mega Man: My Play Watch now, ready for a June 6 launch, exclusively available at GameStop for $79.99. The manufacturer says it will only be available in “limited quantities.”

My Play Watch offers other versions themed around nerdy iconography, including Tetris, Space Invaders, and even emoji. There's also an Atari 2600 version with four games onboard, including Centipede, Missile Command, Pong, and Super Breakout.
