Walter Isaacson, the author of the forthcoming Steve Jobs biography, will appear Sunday evening on "60 Minutes" on CBS.

60 Minutes announced the episode on its Twitter feed.

“Sunday: Steve Kroft sits down with historian Walter Isaacson for the first look at the authorized biography of Steve Jobs,” @60Minutes tweeted. Athough other books have been written about Jobs, Isaacson's will be the only authorized piece.

Isaacson, a critically-acclaimed biographer, has also written books on Albert Einstein, Henry Kissinger, and Benjamin Franklin. He served in the past as the managing editor of Time Magazine and as the chairman and CEO of CNN.

Isaacson’s book, simply titled Steve Jobs, will be released next Monday, Oct. 24. It was originally scheduled to come out on Nov. 21, but publisher Simon & Schuster moved up the date in light of Jobs’ untimely death.

To write the 448-page book, the author spent three years conducting “exclusive and unprecedented” interviews with famously private Jobs. He also spoke with more than 100 of Jobs’ family members, friends, and co-workers for the biography. Isaacson has updated the book with details of Jobs’ resignation as CEO of Apple in August.

Meanwhile, Sony is reportedly trying to buy the rights to the book to make it into a feature film.

Prior to its release, the book is already a hit. It’s number one on Amazon’s bestsellers list and it’s topping Barnes & Noble’s list, too. It’s also taken the top spot on Apple’s iBooks platform.

Apple on Wednesday company-wide memorial for Jobs. During the service, Apple Stores were closed for several hours, their glass doors covered with white sheets, so that retail staff could watch a stream of the event.
