Apple announced the iPhone 15 and Apple Watch Series 9 last week, and if you watched the presentation, you caught a few glimpses of Apple's upcoming Vision Pro, a $3,499 AR/VR headset that launches in 2024.

CEO Tim Cook confirmed during a recent interview with CBS Sunday Morning that the Vision Pro is "on track" to launch next year despite rumored setbacks with complex components.

"I'm using it on a regular basis," he told host John Dickerson. What's he doing? Sketching out Apple's next moonshot? Chatting with execs about getting iMessage on Android? Nope, turns out Cook is just like us. He's binge-watching.

"I watched the entire third season of Ted Lasso" on the Vision Pro, Cook said.

"And of course there are some things that I have access to that other people don't have access to, and so I'm doing that [but] I can't talk to you about [it]," he quipped.

The Vision Pro was originally announced at WWDC in June 2023 after years of rumors. A month later, the Financial Times said the complex design of the Vision Pro was causing major problems for manufacturers, forcing Apple to scale back its production forecasts. Sources told the FT that Apple is only aiming for 130,000 to 150,000 headsets in the first 12 months, though as we note, the first-gen Vision Pro is likely more for developers than average consumers.

The Vision Pro is "more complex" than an iPhone, Cook concedes. "And so, it requires innovation in not only the development but also in the manufacturing."

The third season, and probably last, season of Ted Lasso is available on Apple TV+.
