Apple is removing the extra paywall it created for Major League Soccer. Starting next season, all MLS games will be accessible with a standard Apple TV subscription.
The league has been streaming exclusively, without any regional blackouts, on Apple TV since 2023. With no other official broadcasters, fans had to purchase an MLS Season Pass for $14.99 per month or $99 per season, in addition to the price of Apple TV, although the price often dropped as the season progressed.
With the new update, Apple is ditching Season Pass. The regular subscription opens access to all regular-season games, the annual Leagues Cup tournament, the MLS All-Star Game, the Campeones Cup, the Audi MLS Cup Playoffs, and more.
"We're thrilled to bring MLS to more fans around the world next season on Apple TV," said Eddy Cue, Apple's senior vice president of Services. "Every match, all in one place, alongside incredible Apple Originals—it's a win for fans everywhere."
The new offer is similar to the Formula 1 deal Apple announced last month. Starting in 2026, Apple TV subscribers in the US will be able to watch all F1 race-weekend events at no extra cost.
Apple rebranded its Apple TV+ service to Apple TV last month. That came after an August price hike that increased the monthly cost from $9.99 to $12.99, though the annual cost is still $99. Does that increase cover the loss of Season Pass funds, or is another one on the horizon?
For now, consider reducing your Apple TV expenses by bundling it with Peacock—the savings can reach up to 30%.
