You may soon pay a different price for PlayStation games than other gamers. According to a new report from PSPrices, Sony is running a large-scale dynamic pricing test on its storefront, offering discounts to select players on certain games.

The report found discounts for some players as high as 17.6%, which aren't offered to all customers. The experimental pricing isn’t active in the US, but it has been spotted in 68 regions, with the report noting it has grown from 30 regions at the start of testing in November 2025.

The most up-to-date information shows it includes over 150 games, including first-party PS5 titles such as Astro Bot, God of War Ragnarök, and Marvel’s Spider-Man 2.

For example, Sony is selling each of those games, alongside Gran Turismo 7 and Stellar Blade, with a 12.5% discount in Germany, equaling €10 off for select users. There are even larger discounts for games from third-party publishers, with a 17.6% cut on WWE 2K25 and 16.6% on Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2.

The coding behind the scenes refers to this as the IPT_PILOT program, suggesting this remains in a testing period. It’s unclear why some players are seeing lower prices, but it may be Sony's way of encouraging those who don't spend much on the PlayStation Store to pick up more titles.

So far, there’s no sign of this experiment coming to the US, which may be down to regulatory concerns. If it does happen, you may begin to see different pricing when you’re logged in versus when you’re logged out, or compared with other people you know.

A separate report last week suggested that Sony plans to end its practice of bringing PlayStation 5 exclusive titles to PC within a few years of their initial release. The report says the brand recently cancelled a port of the samurai action game Ghost of Yotei. Sony has yet to officially comment on its plans.
