Using the cell- and text-color icons on Excel's toolbar can be tedious. Cell Color Assistant ($24.95 direct) provides a much easier way to apply colors to your cells. It lets you add up to 50 buttons to its toolbar that represent different combinations of background and foreground colors. In addition to coloring cells, these buttons can also insert text, format existing text, or clear an existing color. The central-control button on the toolbar lets you select all cells in a range that match the formatting of a specified cell.
