Pros & Cons

A greater number of successful hacks happen from within a company than beyond. Unfortunately, there is no one solution to solve all security issues, but for $1,295 WatchGuard ServerLock adds a lot of security to your Windows NT/2000 and Sun Solaris servers, providing an extra layer of protection.

ServerLock protects the Registry, user accounts, and file system from being hacked, deleted, modified, or renamed by internal or external hackers. Once they're locked, attempts to delete most types of files from your Windows NT directory are denied, and programs can't be added or removed. In addition, ServerLock lets you create rules for further protection of directories, file types, and more. Maintenance on the server can be accomplished by unlocking ServerLock with your 239-bit or optional RSA SecurID authentication. The optional ServerLock Manager ($4,995 for five servers, $9,995 for 50 servers) lets you centrally manage all servers running ServerLock.
