LG is joining the seemingly ever-growing list of companies pulling out of Russia.
"LG Electronics is suspending all shipments to Russia and will continue to keep a close watch on the situation as it unfolds," the company says. "We are deeply concerned for the health and safety of all people, and LG remains committed to supporting humanitarian relief efforts."
LG is far from alone. Many other companies, from Nintendo and Sony to Amazon and Microsoft, have stopped doing business in Russia following its invasion of Ukraine. It's becoming increasingly difficult to buy CPUs, GPUs, and pretty much anything else in the country.
Many of those other companies focus on specific market segments. But LG and Samsung, which suspended all shipments to Russia on March 4, make everything from television sets and laptops to appliances and vacuum cleaners. Losing them is like losing most of an electronics store.
LG doesn't offer further details about when it might resume shipments to Russia or how it's supporting relief efforts. (Samsung, for example, said it would donate $6 million to humanitarian organizations.) The company didn't immediately respond to request for comment.
