Samsung already unveiled its Galaxy S25 series and newest foldables this year, but it has a few more things up its sleeve for 2025, including an earlier-than-normal launch for the FE, or Fan Edition, version of the S25.
"For the Galaxy S25 series, we will focus on maintaining sales momentum with seasonal promotions as well as an earlier launch of the S25 FE," Daniel Araujo, VP of Samsung’s mobile experience, said during its latest earnings call.
The last two generations of the Galaxy FE line, the S23 FE and S24 FE, launched in October, which suggests we'll see the S25 FE in August or early September, Android Authority estimates. Typically, these phones offer most of the flagship phone experience for a lower price.
Araujo says Samsung is "also preparing to introduce next-generation innovative products, including our XR headset and trifold smartphone, this year."

"Our XR headset, which seamlessly integrates the XR ecosystem developed in partnership with Google, as well as multimodal AI capabilities, will serve as a key stepping stone in solidifying our leadership in future technologies and further expanding the Galaxy ecosystem," Araujo said.
Google unveiled the Android XR device, dubbed Project Moohan, last year. We went hands on with it at MWC, and at I/O, Google said the device will be "easier to use and more powerful by understanding what you're seeing and taking actions on your behalf."
The trifold smartphone, meanwhile, will likely include two inward-folding hinges, bringing together the two outer screens on top of the inner element. When unfurled, the two extra displays unfold like wings to create a larger landscape display.
Samsung didn't mention either device at its Unpacked event in early July, though Samsung’s head of mobile, TM Roh, told The Korea Times afterward that Samsung is "working hard on a trifold smartphone with the goal of launching it at the end of this year," adding, "We are now focusing on perfecting the product and its usability, but we have not decided its name. As the product nears completion, we are planning to make a final decision soon."
During the earnings call, Araujo also said Samsung is "strengthening the A-Series lineup with new entry-level models, while emphasizing awesome intelligence and extended OS upgrades to differentiate our product experience." He teased "a range of new products designed to maximize Galaxy's competitive edge, including the next-generation form factor," starting with the Galaxy Tab S11 series tablet.
Samsung is also celebrating what it's calling a "record-breaking milestone" with preorders for its latest foldables, the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Galaxy Z Flip 7. The Galaxy Z Fold 7 had the highest amount of preorders ever in the US for one of its Fold-branded phones, while Samsung reports a 25% rise in preorders across these devices compared with the previous generation.
"As part of that, carrier partners saw nearly a 60% preorder jump cumulatively for both devices compared to last year’s models," Samsung says.
