Those who missed out on preordering the Switch 2 will have another chance to snag the console on launch day. After confirmations from Best Buy and GameStop about additional stock, Target is now tipped to receive a limited restock, too.

As Tom's Guide reports, citing YouTuber Jake Randall, each Target store will sell around 40 to 60 additional Switch 2 units on June 5. The quantity might vary depending on the store, but a 50-50 split between standalone Switch 2 consoles and Mario Kart World Bundles is expected.

According to Randall, Target's launch day offer will begin as per local store hours, and the refreshed stock will be available exclusively in-store. However, the retailer might open online purchases the following day (June 6), he adds. In contrast, Best Buy and GameStop are hosting early launch events and selling the restocked units both online and offline.

Nintendo reportedly shipped over a million Switch 2 units to the US in February to avoid President Trump's tariffs. Still, when the preorders went live on April 24, the consoles sold out almost immediately.

To meet demand, Nintendo is now seeking Samsung's chip-making assistance, Bloomberg reports. For Switch 2, the Korean company will use a special 8-nanometer processor designed by Nvidia, which will help Nintendo ship more than 20 million Switch 2 units by March 2026.
