Tao Electronics' Digital Clockviewer ($99.99 direct) fuses fun and function to the digital photo frame by adding a handy alarm clock. This ultraportable digital photo frame weighs just 1 pound, measures 5 by 4 by 2 inches, and is a terrific accessory for anyone who wants a reasonably priced, totable digital photo frame with a little something extra.

The Clockviewer is powered by an AC adapter and features 128MB of onboard memory to store JPEG photos. Pictures must be uploaded from your computer to the frame with the included USB cable, since the Clockviewer lacks memory card or USB flash drive support.

I tested the Classic Mahogany Wood model, but two other styles are available: Modern Black Wood or Contemporary Natural Wood. Although there's no adjustable brightness or contrast control, images look good on the 320-by-240-pixel, 3.5-inch TFT LCD.

Five navigation buttons are located on the top of the frame: Power, Previous, Next, Play/Pause, and Menu. And you'll need them, since there's no remote control. After a boot-up time of about 10 seconds, the frame will display the clock by default. Press the Menu button to view Photo, Clock, Music, or Setup options.

To start viewing your pictures, select Photo from the main menu to see thumbnails of up to four images at a time. Pressing Play twice starts the slide show automatically. Slide shows can have transition times of
