Digital photo frames have become one of the most popular electronics gifts for teens, parents, and grandparents. Jumping on this trend, Kodak has introduced the Wi-Fi–enabled EasyShare EX811 ($229.95 direct), a versatile display that suffers a bit in terms of image quality.

The EX811 has an 8-inch, 16:9 widescreen that can display pictures and video and play MP3s. Measuring 11.2 by 8.3 by 1.5 inches (HWD) and weighing 1.7 pounds, the frame is powered by a 12-volt adapter with a power brick and a conveniently long cord. Manual controls are located on the top of the frame for navigating through photos, accessing the menu, and playing a music slide show. The included remote control can be stowed away in a removable plastic holder on the back.

The frame can display JPEG and EXIF images, as well as QuickTime, AVI, and MPEG-1 and MPEG-4 video files. It can also play MP3s. It supports a wide variety of memory card formats: Secure Digital, MultiMedia, Compact Flash, Memory Stick, MicroDrive, and xD. In addition, you can connect flash drives, PictBridge printers, PCs, and digital cameras via USB. The frame comes with an adapter cable to convert USB to mini USB.

Photos and video can be streamed wirelessly from a PC on your home Wi-Fi network to the frame, a cool capability that many digital frames lack. To do so you'll need an 802.11b or g wireless network and Windows Media Player 11. Setting up the Wi-Fi capability can be complicated at firs
