With an 8-inch diagonal LCD screen, the Image Moments 8.0-inch digital picture frame (IMT-081) from Digital Foci ($199.99 direct) is relatively pleasing. It can screen both your favorite digital images as well as movies. Even better, it boasts impressive image quality and interesting file-management abilities. Still, its remote and menu navigation leave much to be desired.

The Image Moments can display standard JPEG pictures and MPEG-1, -2, and -4 video files. It also supports Compact Flash I & II, MicroDrive, SD, MultiMedia, and xD, Memory Stick/Pro. The frame measures 11.4 by 9.8 by 1.9 inches (LWH) and weighs 2.2 pounds. It comes with an AC adapter, remote control, lockable security cover, and black frame; additional frames sell for $19.95 each.

To view your photos, plug the photo frame into an AC outlet, insert a memory card, and switch it on. By default, your photos will run in slide-show mode. Though the included remote has an overabundance of controls, there's no Back button, which would have been helpful. Still, most of the controls are useful. To change the frame's settings, press Setup. You can randomize, zoom, and delete photos. Slide-show interval time varies from 1 second up to 2 hours. You can also choose from 14 photo transitions, including bottom to top or right to left—not very creative, in my view. There are also one-touch buttons for music slide show, repeat, video, music, transition, slide interval, and repeat. Buttons located on the top of the frame also let users control volume and access the menu.

Like the Pandigital 8.0" Digital Photo Frame (DPF-80-2), Image Moments displays superb photo quality at 640 by 480 pixels with a 4:3 aspect
