Currys PC World has responded to Amazon's own early doors Black Friday deals by dropping prices of the 2017 Echo and Echo Dot speakers to the same.

Both retail giants are now selling the new 2nd edition of the Echo speaker and the smaller Echo Dot for £69.99 and £34.99 each, £20 and £15 down from the normal asking price, respectively.

Currys PC World got their deals out of the gates well ahead of the Black Friday rush, lopping quids off of 4k LG TVs, Lenovo laptops and HP gaming monitors.

While there's no real price difference now, if you can't wait for the actual Black Friday to roll around - it officially begins on the 24th of November - and you wanted an Amazon Echo speaker anyway, you might as well drop one in your basket at Currys PC World.

Alternatively, if you wanted to pick up some smart plugs on the cheap, and remotely control your home via Alexa voice commands, you can pick up a TP-Link HS100 smart plug from Amazon for £9.99 instead of the usual £29.99, when bought with an Echo speaker from Amazon.

Expect to hear of more bargains, discounts, deals, promos, pre-hype and hype before Black Friday kicks off for real; in the meantime, point your browser at our round-up page where we'll be collecting and cataloguing all Black Friday UK news.
