Between roller-coaster tariffs and general inflation, these Cyber Monday deals I found on laptops couldn't have come soon enough. I've spent more than 15 years testing, reviewing, and judging PCs on quality, performance, and value, so I know a great sale when I see it. You don't just want a low price on a laptop; you want a quality laptop for that low price. From budget-friendly ultraportables to discounts on high-end gaming laptops, you'll find some excellent chances to save on some of our favorite models.

Before You Shop for a Laptop: Know What You Want

Instead of chasing bargains or getting worked up about the latest features and specs, you should always start with what you actually want to do with the laptop you're going to buy.

Do you need basic daily productivity? Look for a model with long battery life and a comfortable keyboard. Do you want a beautiful screen for streaming movies and shows? Check our favorite laptops with OLED or 4K displays. If you need something powerful enough for editing photos and videos or playing the latest games, you'll want a more powerful CPU or GPU, respectively.

Questions of size and weight are also worth considering, because you may need to carry your new laptop around a lot. Storage and memory (RAM) are other points to consider. If you have to choose between upgrading one of the two, I usually recommend choosing a model with more RAM, since it's relatively easy to add or upgrade storage, whereas many laptops don't allow you to upgrade the RAM after purchase.

One more note during this sales season: Don't get suckered by an artificial discount, where a retailer might inflate the "regular price" to make the sale price look more enticing. We always quote accurate pricing in our reviews, making them a great starting point for your research. Here are three of my favorite Cyber Monday deals right now.

This just might be the laptop deal to beat this Cyber Monday. We reviewed the previous iteration of this PC, the Dell Inspiron 15 (3535), and found it to be a fine budget laptop marred by inconsistent pricing. Now, Dell has its follow-up, the rebranded Dell 15 Laptop (DC15250), and its price is steady at less than $300 for the shopping holiday. This model prioritizes a large and sharp enough screen to make basic computing tasks bearable without extraneous features or more power than mainstream, budget shoppers typically need.

While this could easily be an absolute minimum-spec laptop at this price, the sale makes a 15-inch, 120Hz 1080p screen and an effective 512GB of storage accessible to many more customers, slashing $120 off the list price for a 30% savings. This is an excellent deal for a kid's first laptop or a secondary system for just about anyone.

From its super-slim magnesium chassis and ultralight build to the vivid OLED touch screen and outstanding battery life, it's no surprise that the LG Gram Pro 2-in-1 16 (2025) was named not just an Editors' Choice laptop but one of the best of the year. Whether you're a frequent traveler on the go or just want a flexible 2-in-1 with a sharp display, it's a fantastic pick. It's especially attractive for creatives and note-takers, as it includes a stylus, and the LG sells the only 16-inch 2-in-1 that's light enough for comfortable use as a tablet.

The best part? Amazon updated the deal on this versatile ultraportable on sale for Cyber Monday, knocking another three bucks off for a staggering $553 in savings (22% off) on one of the best 2-in-1 laptops we've seen.

It's hard not to love the Microsoft Surface Pro, especially last year's more powerful 13-inch model. With a crisp OLED display, a capable Snapdragon X Elite 12-core processor, and a fistful of Copilot+ AI features, it's one of the most capable Windows tablets you can buy. Plus, the built-in kickstand isn't just iconic; it's a clever design, making the tablet super-simple to prop up wherever you happen to be, and slim enough to use in your hands on the go. And it only gets better when you add accessories like the Surface Pro Flex Keyboard and Surface Slim Pen.

Usually, I gripe about these accessories being sold separately, but the sting subsides a bit when you're buying the Surface Pro for an impressive 36% off the regular $1,399.99 price. Selling now for $899, it knocks $500 off the standard price, easily covering the cost of those extra items.

FAQs

Should I Wait Until Cyber Monday to Buy a Computer?

If you're in the market for a new laptop, Cyber Monday is an ideal time to make a purchase. Retailers routinely present deep discounts on some of the best laptops on the market, making this the best chance to get our favorite ultraportables, 2-in-1 laptops, and gaming laptops at the best prices you'll see all year. If you know you're planning to buy a laptop soon, it's worth watching the sales this week.

Which Is the Best Low-Price Laptop?

"Low-price" means different things to different people, so the best laptop is always the one that meets your specific needs, whether that's for media creation, gaming, or everyday productivity. Great budget laptops are always available; see our favorite laptops under $1,000 and those under $500. However, you'll usually have to compromise on certain features or settle for less polished build quality to nail those affordable prices.

That's why Cyber Monday sales are such a (forgive the pun) big deal. When top performers and premium laptops are selling for $100, $300, even $1,000 off the regular price, it's your best chance to get a great laptop at a price you're comfortable with—and score a deal you won't see any other time of the year.

Will Deals Still Be Available After Cyber Monday?

Maybe not. It's usually a question of inventory; Amazon or Best Buy may sell a killer laptop at a steep discount, but they don't have an unlimited supply of discounted laptops. In fact, they might only have 20 of them. Whether the same laptop will sell for the same discount later this week is essentially a question of how many are left, and the very best deals don't last long.

My Experience

From the laptops on your desk to satellites in space and AI that seems to be everywhere, I cover many topics at PCMag. I've covered PCs and technology products for over 15 years at PCMag and other publications, among them Tom's Guide, Laptop Mag, and TWICE. As a hardware reviewer, I've handled dozens of MacBooks, 2-in-1 laptops, Chromebooks, and the latest AI PCs. As the resident Starlink expert, I've done years of hands-on testing with the satellite service. I also explore the most valuable ways to use the latest AI tools and features in our Try AI column.

The Technology I Use

Between the Starlink dish on my roof and the laptop or desktop I'm using right now, I've always got a new tech product in front of me. I have five or six laptops in rotation at any moment, along with a couple of mini PCs, two smart TVs, and a couple of Chromebooks for good measure.

Everything is connected via Starlink, using the latest Dish V4 and Gen 3 Router, letting me live my tech-centric life in rural Idaho.

When I'm not testing and reviewing products, I'm probably using one of a dozen AI tools for everything from work and productivity to entertainment and saving some money.
