If you want to try the final version of Samsung’s One UI 8, you currently need a Galaxy Z Fold 7 or Z Flip 7. However, Samsung has now confirmed that more phones are set to get the final version of its Android 16 update next month.

"The official rollout of One UI 8 will be available to more Galaxy devices beyond Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Z Flip 7 starting in September," Samsung says.

Samsung didn't confirm which devices will get the update, but it's almost certain the Galaxy S25 series will be first up to the plate. The Galaxy S25, S25 Plus, and Galaxy S25 Ultra have been eligible for the One UI 8 beta since May.

Samsung is extending access to that beta next week. If you own a Galaxy S24, Galaxy Z Fold 6, or Galaxy Z Flip 6 series, it arrives during the week of Aug. 11. You can sign up for it in the Samsung Members app.

In September, the brand will also bring the beta to the Galaxy S23 series, Z Fold 5, Z Flip 5, Galaxy A36, Galaxy 35, and the company’s latest Galaxy Tab S10 series of tablets.

Today’s announcement also confirms One UI 8 Watch is set to come to more devices “later this year.” The software launched on the Galaxy Watch 8 and its Classic counterpart, but so far the company has stayed quiet on updates for existing watches. We’d expect the Galaxy Watch 7 series to be first to get an upgrade.

“This update will deliver motivational health features and a more refined, intuitive interface to an even broader range of Galaxy users," Samsung says. The wording here strongly suggests Samsung won't roll this out until October or later.

In an earnings call last week, Samsung teased how it would be soon introducing its Galaxy S25 FE handset soon. It also said we can expect to see a new tri-fold phone and its Android XR headset before the end of 2025.
