Google has begun rolling out a Find My Device App feature that allows you to view the live location of people who share their location with you, 9to5Google reports.
The new feature is meant to help you find misplaced devices, coordinate a meetup, or ensure a family member is home safe, Google said when announcing the feature earlier this month.
The update arrives in the form of a new People tab. Tapping on it reveals who shares their location with you and with whom you share yours. The new tab also opens up a map view showing the locations of your approved contacts.
To begin sharing your location with someone new, tap the plus (+) icon above the People tab, set the duration, select the contacts, and tap Share. You can choose duration options such as 1 hour, today, until you turn this off, or you can set a custom duration.

As noted by The Verge, Google Maps already has a feature that lets users share their location; the new People tab in the Find My Device app just ensures both device tracking and location-sharing take place in the same app.
The People feature is rolling out with version 3.1.277-4 of the Find My Device app via Google Play. This update also brings a refreshed UI, which bears a resemblance to Apple’s Find My app.
