Plex users can now stream music through Sonos speakers.

The media server software maker on Wednesday launched a beta version of Plex for Sonos, inviting users to help test and refine the service.

Simply join the Sonos Public Beta Program and add the Plex service using a mobile or desktop Sonos controller. Then select a Plex Media Server to browse playlists, artists, albums, tracks, etc., and listen to any tunes from your entire collection.

"This means you'll benefit from our awesome library and discovery features, and your personal music will look better than ever on Sonos," Plex boasted.

As an added bonus, users can access content from a remote Sonos device. So after painstakingly ripping your massive vinyl collection to lossless FLAC, you can stream it to your Sonos-equipped remote cabin in the woods without missing a beat. Users must enable Remote Access for Plex (the preferred method), or be running at least version 0.9.15.0 of the media server.
