Video streaming services have all but replaced cable. Although these numerous subscriptions offer freedom, variety, and flexibility when it comes to entertainment, it's becoming increasingly expensive to watch all the movies and TV they offer, whether as standalone options or as part of a bundle. You can trust me on this one. I've been covering video streaming services at PCMag for years, and nearly all the major services have recently hiked their prices.

However, the holiday shopping season is all about savings, and streaming services seize the opportunity to lock in vital annual customers with great Black Friday Deals. This year is no different. If you want to watch the hottest movies and shows, check out these great deals on my favorite, top-rated video streaming services. I won't steer you wrong.

Disney+ & Hulu Black Friday Deal

Disney+ and Hulu form one of the strongest teams in streaming, thanks to Disney's beloved franchises (Marvel, Pixar, and Star Wars) and Hulu's acclaimed adult fare (The Bear and The Handmaid's Tale), with the option to expand to live TV. This Black Friday, you can score the Disney+ and Hulu ad-supported bundle for 12 months for $4.99 per month, saving an impressive 38% off the regular price. You must act fast, though; the deal lasts until December 1.

Here's some more insight on what you'll get with the Disney+ & Hulu Black Friday deal.

HBO Max Black Friday Deal

HBO Max also has some of the most recognizable properties in entertainment. It contains everything from the DC universe to the Food Network to HBO classics (The Sopranos and The Wire). HBO Max's excellent Black Friday deal lets you pay just $2.99 per month (70% off) for a year's subscription with ads, if you subscribe before December 1.

Paramount+ Black Friday Deal

Paramount is rapidly becoming an even bigger media player. That's what high-profile mergers will do to a company. The Paramount+ Black Friday deal offers a reduced price of just $2.99 per month for the first two months of your subscription. It's a nice, quick, and cheap way to get your Dexter fix, as long as you subscribe by December 2. Conversely, you can unlock an entire free year of Paramount+ (or Peacock) if you subscribe to Walmart+ this Black Friday at 50% off.

Here's a more in-depth look at this Paramount+ Black Friday Deal.

Apple TV Black Friday Deal

Apple TV Plus is an easy pickup right now if you want fresh shows without jumping into another overpriced subscription. You get the big Apple originals, weekly new releases, and live sports in one place, plus the kind of premium shows Apple loves flexing with, think Severance, Pluribus, The Morning Show, all that high budget drama. For the first six months it drops to $5.99 instead of the usual $12.99, which is a solid excuse to finally catch up on everything people keep telling you to watch.

You may be wondering about Netflix, the company that kicked off the streaming boom and is arguably the biggest name in the space. Unfortunately, it seems Netflix isn't offering a Black Friday deal this year, so you'll need to pay full price for the final season of Stranger Things.

FAQs

Are Video Streaming Services Cheaper During Black Friday?

Absolutely! Black Friday is THE best time to sign up for a new streaming service, or re-up an existing subscription and many deals are for a full year, so you'll be all set to stream your way through 2026. You can find significant discounts on video streaming services including Apple TV, Disney+, HBO Max, Hulu, Paramount+, and Peacock.

Which Video Streaming Service Has the Biggest Discounts?

Apple TV, Disney+, and Hulu all offer deals that significantly slash the price. However, HBO Max's deal is the most generous, offering a 70% reduction in the subscription price for an entire year. Notably, video streaming behemoth Netflix is not offering any Black Friday deals.

Principal Writer, Software

My PCMag career began in 2013 as an intern. Now, I'm a senior writer, using the skills I acquired at Northwestern University to write about dating apps, meal kits, programming software, website builders, video streaming services, and video games. I was previously a senior editor at Geek.com and have written for The A.V. Club, Kotaku, and Paste Magazine. I'm the author of the gaming history book Video Game of the Year: A Year-by-Year Guide to the Best, Boldest, and Most Bizarre Games from Every Year Since 1977, and the reason everything you know about Street Sharks is a lie.

The Technology I Use

I use the newest Android and iOS smartphones for testing, but I currently use an iPhone 14 as my personal phone. I just hate that we gave up headphone jacks.

I've always favored gaming laptops over desktops. On that note, I have a 16-inch HP Envy with an Intel Core i9-13900H CPU and Nvidia GeForce RTX 4060 GPU. No matter what machine I’m working on, an alarming amount of my personal and professional life revolves around cloud-synced Google Drive files.

For food subscriptions, my household sticks with CookUnity and HelloFresh for meals. Video streaming is a bit more complicated. While there are too many services to list, we're subscribed to most of the major ones. These days, I find myself drawn to HBO Max's movies and shows, as well as Peacock's reality trash.

I've been a lifelong Nintendo fan, and I sincerely believe the Nintendo Switch will go down as one of the best gaming consoles of all time. It has an unbelievable library of new and old games from Nintendo and third-party companies. The handheld/console hybrid approach makes playing games so much more flexible, a legacy that continues with the Nintendo Switch 2 and Valve’s Steam Deck.
