Streaming service Sling TV is set to raise its subscription prices across the board, by $5.99 per month on all its basic packages.

Subscribers to Sling Orange, Sling Blue, and Sling Orange + Blue have until Dec. 20th, 2024 until the price hike comes into effect.

The company didn’t give a huge amount of detail about what was behind the move other than “rising costs”, but did claim that it fights “every day on your behalf to keep costs as low as possible.”

Sling Blue, which includes Fox, Bravo, NBC, and TLC programming, will now cost $45.99 per month. Sling Orange, which includes Disney and ESPN networks, also jumps up to $45.99 per month.

Sling’s combo subscription package, which gives access to all the above networks, 46 channels in total, will now cost you $61 a month.

Sling subscription service has not raised its price since March 2023, when Sling put up prices by $5 in select markets.

“These increases are industry wide — other leading streaming providers have had increases throughout 2024,” said Sling’s official statement. “Despite this, Sling continues to be the most affordable option with offerings more than twenty dollars less per month versus other providers.”

The announcement comes after Disney+, Hulu, and ESPN+ plans received a price hike in October of this year in the US, though many of the price rises were only $2 for basic ad-supported plans.

In June of this year, Max, previously known as HBO Max, also increased the price of its ad-free tier to $16.99 per month, up from $15.99, while also boosting the price of its Ultimate Ad-Free plan by $1 to $20.99 per month.

In July 2023, NBCUniversal increased the price of Peacock's Premium and Premium Plus plans, forcing consumers to pay $5.99 per month for a Premium subscription, an increase of $1 per month.
