Ahead of the World Cup later this month, new pictures have emerged showing Spanish soccer star Lamine Yamal wearing what appears to be a new model of Apple’s Beats headphones.

The bright pink headphones, first spotted by 9to5Mac, feature a headband more similar to AirPods Max than previous Beats headphones, featuring a thinner stem which progressively widens to connect to the earcups. Current Beats headphones have straight, flat headbands in contrast. The cups also feature a more angular design, visibly protruding rather than gradually curving.

The news comes after Apple watchers spotted a mysterious FCC filing earlier this month for new over-ear Bluetooth headphones, though few other details were revealed. The filing didn’t confirm whether it was for new Beats or AirPods headphones, though the Beats "b" logo would seem to confirm it's the former.

The post has now received over one million likes on Instagram from Lamine’s 43 million followers. Lamine plays for the Spanish national team and for La Liga club Barcelona.

The Beats brand is no stranger to using high-profile sports stars to tease new releases. Back in 2024, we saw the Beats Pill portable speaker for the first time in a short Instagram reel featuring NBA star LeBron James. LeBron's post appeared within weeks of Apple watchers uncovering a new FCC filing for a portable speaker.

Unfortunately, the clip didn't give much indication of when the new headphones could be released, or if Apple will try for a summer release to coincide with the World Cup.
