Three UK has made something of a name for itself offering its customers roaming in countries like the US and Australia for no extra charge. There are 11 places currently, and today it announced five more would be added on July 1st.

France, Israel, Norway, Switzerland and Finland are the new countries where you'll be able to make calls as if you were at home. Data, crucially is included so if you have a 5GB cap in the UK, that's how much you'll be able to use in a "Feel At Home" country. Any extra you use is chargeable, but for 10p per MB it's a much-reduced rate. If you're on an unlimited tariff at home, you can use up to 25GB of data abroad.

Calls and texts have a cap too, all-you-can-eat customers get 5000 texts and 3000 minutes of calls from abroad. You will also be charged extra if you call a local number, so say a New York Pizza restaurant while you're in the Big Apple will have a higher charge.Data tethering on laptops isn't allowed however, this is just a service that allows your smartphone to stay connected while you're on holiday.

One thing you might also notice is that Three has fewer roaming agreements than other mobile networks. So on EE, you might have four networks to roam on in Austria, on Three, you can only use Three Austria. Having said that, in the US you get both AT&T and T-Mobile, which is standard for UK users.
