Barnes & Noble unveiled its new tablet-meets-ebook-reader, the Nook Color, a couple of weeks ago, and we were impressed. It's well-designed, fast, and combines some of the great features of a dedicated ebook reader—simple interface, easy downloading, and reading—with a full-color screen, Web power, and the app capabilities of a tablet. We put it through its full paces, so read our full Nook Color review for a look at everything this Nook can do, and how it stacks up against the Amazon Kindle and other ebook readers.

Before we started testing, though, we took some shots of the good-looking Android device, its packaging and all the goodies you'll get if you buy a $249 Nook Color for the holidays.

Barnes & Noble puts the Nook Color into a slick, clever, flip-open, magnetic case that snaps open to reveal the device itself, along with its cables (a USB cable and a USB adapter for wall charging) and a handy Getting Started guide. We turned it on, tapped around, and took plenty of pictures along the way.
