Apple's competing fiercely on a number of different battle fields: computers, cell phones, and more. One industry the company has pretty much locked down is MP3 players, thanks to its ubiquitous iPod line. Apple recently announced that it has sold 275 million devices.

Apple's not standing still, either. The company's refresh of the iPod touch, nano, and shuffle, has changed all three popular devices, adding some useful features to each.

The iPod shuffle reverted back to its square look from two generations ago, but, for the first time, adds physical controls. There's still no screen, but the $49 2GB player got a small click wheel, along with support for VoiceOver voice control and Genius playlists—and comes in five different colors.

Before we dispatched the new shuffle to the PC labs for a full review, though, we took some unboxing shots to whet your appetite. Check out the slideshow for a close look at the latest iPod shuffle.
