Ikea doesn’t make speakers with Sonos anymore, but that hasn’t stopped the furniture brand from debuting new audio products.
Two new speakers from Ikea are expected by the end of the year. Made in partnership with Swedish designer Teklan, they are designed to be showcased in your home as interior design pieces with technology hidden inside.
Wall-mountable circular speakers called the Solskydd come in three different sizes. The smallest 8-inch version comes in orange with a triangular pattern on the front, while the medium 11-inch comes in green with brown and beige stripes.
The largest at 18 inches comes in a different orange color with a textured finish rather than a patterned design. All three speakers are made to be hung on a wall, while the two smaller versions also come with bases for you to place them elsewhere in your home.
The smallest version of the Solskydd is $79.99, the medium is $99.99, and the largest is $139.99.

Ikea is also hiding its speaker tech inside lamps called the Kulglass, which come in either an all-green color or with a red base and pink shade. They cost $129.99 each.
The brand also introduced a new, almost spherical lamp called the Fado, designed to go alongside its speakers, but it's just a traditional light with no further tech included.
Sara Ottosson, product developer at Ikea, said, “We’re treating speakers with the same care as the rest of the home, so they contribute to a room’s atmosphere and personality not only through sound but also through form, colour and character.”
Ikea says to expect these speakers to go on sale in various markets throughout December.
