Buying Guide: Picasa 3.5

One of the most impressive features of Picasa Web Albums has finally come to the desktop software—the ability to find all pictures containing a certain person's face. Adobe just added this to its $99 Photoshop Elements 8, but in Picasa 3 you get it for free. This release of Picasa also adds another feature already in Web Albums: the impressive Geotagging, which pinpoints where you snapped a picture on a Google Map. Finally, the camera import process has been streamlined. While these new capabilities aren't as revolutionary as those in previous version upgrades, they do solidify Picasa's position as our entry-level photo management Editors' Choice.
