Apple has a number of iconic retail store designs, with New York's Fifth Avenue store probably being the most well known. Singapore is set to get the next unique Apple Store, though, both in design and location.

As The Straits Times reports, Apple has confirmed that the Marina Bay Sands store is set to open in the very near future, with a statement from the company explaining why it's set to be so unique, "Apple Marina Bay Sands is coming soon to Singapore, celebrating the first Apple store in the world that sits on the water."

Not only does it count as the first Apple store to sit on water, it won't fail to catch your eye as it's a dome-like structure. The official teaser website for the store gives nothing away about the final look of the interior or exterior, but promises to be, "a space for you to explore, connect and create something new."

The store is located at 2 Bayfront Avenue, B2-06, Singapore 018972. The lack of an opening date should come as no surprise as Apple, just like everyone else, is reacting to the coronavirus pandemic and opening/closing retail locations depending on infections local to each store. After initially deciding to re-open stores, at least 77 have had to close their doors again in the US due to COVID-19 infections spiking. The last thing Apple wants is to celebrate the opening of a brand new store only to have it close again within a matter of days or weeks due to the virus.
