Pros & Cons

The Wave Industries Soundbug, along with being a very cool idea, is a space-saving substitute for speakers, especially when you're traveling with a laptop or MP3 player. The device, which runs on triple-A batteries and connects to your headset jack, suctions to a smooth surface—a glass or metal cabinet, for instance. Then, thanks to Terfenol-D (a special magnet developed by the U.S. military), the Soundbug turns the surface into a sound board. When we attached the Soundbug to a large window, the music and computer sounds, though not exceptional, were relatively clear.
