In a world where video games and other forms of media encourage you to get up off the couch, there's a refreshing app called Viggle that says you should just sit down and watch TV all day. In fact, it'll even reward you for doing so.

We're actually talking about real rewards here - like gift cards to Starbucks, Best Buy, Burger King, and more. The app actually listens in to figure out what TV show you're watching, and then gives you points based on what programs you tune into.

On average, it'll take a few dozen hours of TV watching before you can cash out for a $5 gift card, but Viggle plans to offer special deals, like bonus points if you "check in" to American Idol or watch a commercial.

"Viggle is the first loyalty program for TV. We're basically allowing people to get rewards for doing something they're doing already and that they love to do," said the president of the company behind Viggle.

You can grab the app now from the App Store.
