Pros & Cons

The selection of FireWire hubs is limited, simply because fewer FireWire peripherals are available than USB peripherals. FireWire is used mostly for DV cameras, but it works at least as well as USB 2.0 for many other high-speed applications (just ask a Mac user).

The high-style Belkin FireWire 6-Port Hub works with Macs and PCs. Five ports plus the power cable hide in the back of the unit, and a detachable cover helps tame cord clutter. The front of the device contains a single port, which you should probably leave free for, say, a DV camcorder or another device that you use frequently. If you have more than two FireWire devices, then this hub is worth serious consideration.
