Whether you're a muggle or wannabe witch, there's never been a better time to explore the wizarding world of Harry Potter—with Harry himself! Wizarding World and Spotify teamed up to bring the magic of Hogwarts to children (and children-at-heart) in lockdown.
Each week, familiar faces from the franchise (and beyond) will read through all 17 chapters of J.K. Rowling's first book, Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone. Daniel Radcliffe kicked things off on Tuesday with a narration of Chapter One: "The Boy Who Lived."
Watch filmed-at-home videos online, or tune into Spotify and Spotify Kids for audio-only versions, read by David Beckham, Stephen Fry, Dakota Fanning, Claudia Kim (Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald), Eddie Redmayne, Noma Dumezweni (Harry Potter and the Cursed Child), and more. You can register with the Harry Potter Fan Club to receive updates on future readings.
"Harry Potter fans new and returning can expect a stellar and eclectic cast of narrators and some very special cameo appearances," according to a Spotify announcement. All 17 chapters will be released by the middle of the summer—available globally for free and Premium users.
After each installment, visit Wizarding World for further reading, exclusive analysis, and fun activities. Folks can also submit artful interpretations of famous scenes from the first book, which may be included in the weekly videos; share entries via @WizardingWorld on Twitter with the hashtag #HarryPotterAtHome.
The magical hub, launched in April, was created to provide readers and fans with a "friendly retreat" during difficult times; Rowling & Co. are casting a Banishing Charm on boredom with activity kits, craft videos, articles, quizzes, puzzles, and more.
