If you’re on the fence about trading in your old iPhone at Apple, the company is offering an extra incentive to help make up your mind. As reported by MacRumors, Apple is raising the trade-in values of some newer iPhones, iPads, Macs, and Apple Watches by $5 to $35.
For the iPhone 16 lineup, the trade-in value increases by $10 for the iPhone 16 Pro Max, iPhone 16 Pro, and iPhone 16 Plus, and it increases by $25 for the base iPhone 16. The maximum trade-in values for these devices are now $695, $560, $465, and $460, respectively.
The oldest iPhones you can trade in at Apple are the iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus. The company will pay you $35 or $45, respectively, for these 2017 phones.
For Apple Watches, the trade-in value is increasing by $10 for the Ultra 2, Series 9, and the original Ultra, going from $295 to $305, $120 to $130, $215 to $205, respectively. For Series 10, the maximum value remains unchanged at $150.
As for iPads, their trade-in values are increasing by up to $20. The iPad Pro sees the biggest jump, going from $670 to $690, followed by iPad Air, iPad, and iPad mini, all of which get a $15 bump.
For the MacBook Pro, the maximum trade-in value is increasing from $685 to $690, while for the MacBook Air, it is going up from $485 to $520. The Mac mini, currently in high demand, gets the biggest value bump among Apple computers, going from $340 to $375.
Notably, if you get the maximum trade-in value for the MacBook Air and have a student ID, you could get a brand new MacBook Neo at no additional cost.
While the values are looking good for Apple devices, the same can’t be said for Android phones. For the Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra, the max value is dropping from $230 to $200, and for the Google Pixel 8 Pro, it’s dropping from $170 to $165.
Note that these are all the maximum trade-in values you can fetch for your devices at an Apple Store. The actual amount may vary depending on the condition of the product. You can find all devices eligible for trade-ins on Apple’s dedicated landing page. You can also click on the “Find your trade-in value” button here to get an estimate for your device.
