At Least 30 Motorola Phones Are on Track to Get Android 16: Is Yours on the List?

There are no launch dates, but Motorola has updated support pages for more than two dozen handsets to note that their 'next OS' is Android 16. But how long will we have to wait?

Android 16 is just over a week old, and Motorola has confirmed that 30 of its devices will be compatible with Google's latest mobile OS...eventually.

While we don't have an official rollout timeline, historically the brand has focused on its newest phones first. That likely means we'll see Android 16 land on devices like the Motorola Edge 2025 and Motorola Razr Ultra 2025 before it arrives on cheaper Moto G handsets.

If you have an older phone from Motorola, the wait might be long. Motorola has always taken its time releasing updates for its devices, so even though we're hearing about compatibility now there's a chance this update won't arrive for many months, or even until 2026.

Motorola didn’t make a big song and dance about its compatibility announcement. Instead, YTechB spotted the changes on individual support pages for Motorola phones and went through each one to create a list of all the devices. Some of these products aren't available in the US. For example, earlier this year Motorola introduced a Razr 60 Ultra in Europe, which aside from the name, is the same device as the Motorola Razr Ultra 2025 sold in the US.

Here's the full list of compatible devices:

  • Moto G 2025
  • Moto G Power 2025
  • Moto G55
  • Moto G56
  • Moto G75
  • Moto G85
  • Moto G86
  • Moto G86 Power
  • Motorola Edge 2025
  • Motorola Edge 40 Pro
  • Motorola Edge 50
  • Motorola Edge 50 Fusion
  • Motorola Edge 50 Neo
  • Motorola Edge 50 Pro
  • Motorola Edge 50 Ultra
  • Motorola Edge 60
  • Motorola Edge 60 Fusion
  • Motorola Edge 60 Pro
  • Motorola Edge 60 Stylus
  • Motorola G Stylus 2025
  • Motorola Razr 2023
  • Motorola Razr 2025
  • Motorola Razr 50
  • Motorola Razr 50 Ultra
  • Motorola Razr 60
  • Motorola Razr 60 Ultra
  • Motorola Razr Ultra 2025
  • Motorola Razr Plus 2024
  • Motorola Razr Plus 2025
  • ThinkPhone 25 by Motorola

Weirdly, a few recent phones are missing from this list, including the Motorola Razr Plus 2023, Motorola Razr 2024, and the original ThinkPhone. That doesn't mean those phones won't get Android 16. Motorola might still be updating its support pages. Both of the Razr handsets also have closely related devices that are confirmed to get the update, so it'd be strange for Motorola to skip over them considering they're so similar.

Android 16 brings with it improvements to the way notifications work, new lock screen notifications for food delivery apps, better security protocols across your device, and new tweaks to make phone calls easier for those who are hard of hearing.
