UPDATE 2/18/26: Call of Duty: Warzone on mobile is set to close in two months, according to publisher Activision. The last day you'll be able to play the game on Android or iOS will be April 17, 2026. The move comes almost a year after publisher Activision removed the title from mobile storefronts, meaning new players could no longer download the game.

Original Story 5/19/25:
The hit battle royale Call of Duty Warzone’s experiment on mobile is ending. Publisher Activision has announced it’s taking the first steps to sunset the mobile version of Warzone after it fell below the company's expectations.

The game’s servers will remain live for the foreseeable future, but it will be removed from the Apple App Store and Google Play Store sometime today.

On X, Activision confirmed it would end updates to the mobile version of the game. "This decision was made after careful consideration of various factors, and while we're proud of the accomplishment in bringing Call of Duty: Warzone to mobile in an authentic way, it unfortunately has not met our expectations with mobile-first players like it has with PC and console audiences.”

Those who already have the game downloaded to a device can continue playing. The company has yet to announce when servers will stop working, but without updates or bug fixes for the game, it may mean the company plans to turn it off later this year. All Activision will say right now is that it will "notify players of any changes."

You can no longer buy in-game currency, and those who have leftover COD Points are encouraged by Activision to spend them on content. There’s no way to get a refund.

It’s been a tough week for lovers of battle royale games on mobile. Fortnite remains down across all iOS devices worldwide after Apple blocked the game's return to the US App Store. Epic Games has said it will keep its servers down around the world until Apple unblocks its new version of the game.
