D4: Dark Dreams Don't Die (for Xbox One) Specs

Product Category Microsoft Xbox One
Product Price Type Direct

Swery, the director who helmed last generation's Twin Peaks-inspired Deadly Premonition, returns with another strange murder mystery called D4: Dark Dreams Don't Die ($14.99). The first season of this episodic Xbox One exclusive is comprised of a brief prologue and two lengthier chapters. Altogether, this point-and-click adventure game lasts about 6-10 hours; maybe more if you enjoy the scenery and the characters and scour the game for every last collectible and achievement. But judging by D4's stealth launch, worrisome sales numbers, and the complete lack of info regarding any future releases, this initial pack of episodes might be the last. Hopefully, D4's next season will get greenlit soon, because the game—with its twisty and bizarre tale, ridiculous characters, and compelling investigative gameplay—deserves to continue. It's a wild, weird, and unfortunately short ride, but one well worth taking.
