Amazon Pharmacy’s same-day prescription delivery service will see a major expansion in 2026, meaning you’re more likely to be able to get quick access to your medication.

Amazon plans to expand its same-day prescription service to almost 2,000 new communities before the end of the year, bringing it to a total of 4,500 cities and towns across the US. New states with coverage will include Idaho and Massachusetts, joining locations across Arizona, California, Florida, New York, Texas, and more. Amazon delivers prescriptions through its electric van network, but in some locations it also uses e-bike deliveries.

The brand has yet to confirm the exact locations of its same-day delivery expansions, but it suggests new areas will roll out gradually throughout the year. Amazon Pharmacy allows you to check the delivery speed for your location on its website.

"Patients shouldn't have to choose between speed, cost, and convenience when it comes to their medication, regardless of where they live," said John Love, VP of Amazon Pharmacy. "By combining our pharmacy expertise with our logistics network, we're removing critical barriers and helping patients start treatment faster—setting a new standard for accessible, digital-forward pharmacy care."

Late last year, Amazon introduced vending machine kiosks where customers could collect their prescriptions. It first launched with five kiosks at different One Medical locations across Los Angeles. Amazon says it’ll expand to other locations soon; it hasn't said where, but there are One Medical locations in 19 major US cities.
