After Kohler launched a poop-analyzing camera last year, Vivoo is debuting a urine analysis gadget at CES this year.

The Vivoo Smart Toilet attaches to the rim of your bowl and features an optical sensor on the inside, as well as an external suction mount on the outside. The purpose is to collect a small sample of your urine and provide you with real-time updates on your hydration levels.

Before you pee, just connect the sensor to the Vivoo mobile app using Bluetooth. The app will ask you to urinate once it's ready to take measurements and flush the toilet once the measurements are complete.

Details about your hydration levels and ways to improve them, if necessary, will be shared within 45 seconds. "Your data is encrypted and stored securely," Vivoo says.

The U-shaped measuring device is built to fit toilets of any size, and can last for more than 1,000 tests, the company says. The Withings U-Scan, Vivoo's most well-known competitor in this category, can only take 20+ tests per cartridge.

At launch, the device costs $99, and it is expected to begin shipping in July. The corresponding Vivoo app works with Android 14 or later and iOS 17 or later, and it is free for the first three months. After that, you'll have to pay $2.99 per month for software support.
