When gaming or listening to music, the two most important things to having an enjoyable experience are having good visuals and a good audio experience. In 2024, there's no need to get tangled up with wired earphones because of pricing. With Amazon Prime Day upon us, there is no reason not to score a deal on earbuds. If you’re eager to score some savings, we’ve compiled the best Prime Day deals to improve your listening experience.

The JBL Tunebuds, which received an “Excellent” rating from our experts and our our review found that their "IP54 rating" was “slightly better than average for noise-canceling earphones.” The Tunebuds also boast a 10-12 hour battery life, depending on whether or not you toggle Active Noise Cancellation. “The earphones have no trouble reproducing the sub-bass at the 34-second mark of Kendrick Lamar’s “Loyalty.” The deepest of these low notes come across clearly with subwoofer-like rumble, while the drum loop gets some extra thump. The various vocals sound crisp and clear thanks to some sculpting in the high mids and highs,” according to our review. If you like to have your bass thumping while you’re listening to your favorite tunes, this may be a pair to consider.

If you’re tired of using those big old clunky headphones while trying to catch some wins, you’ll be glad to hear that you can snag a pair of ASUS’ ROG Cetra Wireless Gaming headphones, an AirPod-like set of EarBuds, before Prime Day kicks off. Currently on sale for $79.99, the Tunebuds offer Low-Latency Bluetooth connection, to ensure you hear everything in real time while playing your favorite game. They also claim to offer a whopping 27-hours of battery life, though our experts have not tested this model. However, if you're a PlayStation fan looking for a simple and cheaper alternative to the PlayStation Pulse, these Earbuds may not be for you, as Asus reports that these are only compatible with "PCs, Macs, mobile phones and Nintendo Switch. However, they do not work with PlayStation 4 or 5."

Currently available at just over $100, the Jabra Elite 5 offers many features you'd expect from a pair of earbuds, like active noise cancellation so you can block out the messy office chatter while you attend that conference call or zoom meeting. Our review of the Jabra Elite 5 praised its "good sound quality and effective noise cancellation" making it one of the better choices of this list, if you are looking for a pair of earbuds that will help you block out distractions at work.

If you're feeling nostalgic and looking for a 2000s/early 2010s vibe and looking for a set of earbuds with good bass and ANC, the Skullcandy Indy may be the choice for you. Our review of the Skullcandy Indy found them to have "Powerful audio performance with intense bass depth" We also praised them as being "a growing number of affordable true wireless in-ears to feature adequate noise cancellation, with audio performance that will appeal to bass lovers."

My Experience

Prior to interning with PCMag, I attended the Craig Newmark Graduate School of Journalism for two semesters and will graduate in December, 2024. During my time at the J-school I gained a lot of experience filing Freedom of Information Act requests. Prior to starting my internship with PCMag, I filed over a dozen Freedom of Information Law requests across New York State. I’m also a big fan of interactive news stories with neat visualizations.

Before attending J-School, I was a student at SUNY Old Westbury where I was a contributor to the school newspaper and a safety aid for the University Police Department. As an intern with PCMag, I cover tech news, write feature stories, and carefully craft how-to guides and reviews of consumer electronics.

My Areas of Interest

I have many interests and areas of knowledge, but I don’t consider myself an expert in most things. I pay close attention to national politics and international affairs, and recently began following New York City politics.

When I have free time, you can usually find me gaming, watching a documentary, enjoying a cup of coffee, or going on a long walk. I grew up playing video games on consoles, but I got my first gaming PC in 2020 and have never looked back. My favorite PC-exclusive games are FiveM, Arma Reforger, and Squad—but these days, I mainly play Arma Reforger.

The Technology I Use

Most days you can find me jumping back and forth between my MacBook Pro and my desktop PC, an Alienware Aurora R10. Under the hood, it has 32GB of RAM, a Ryzen 7 3800x CPU, and an AMD Radeon RX 5700 XT graphics card. I originally wanted to have a computer built, but my brother and I both got our PCs in 2020 and therefore had to split the computer budget between us, so we compromised and I got the prebuilt PC.
