Apple Maps is finally available on the web.

Users can explore Maps on Safari and Chrome on Mac and iPad, as well as Chrome and Edge on Windows PCs via beta.maps.apple.com. The web version offers driving and walking directions, and the option to browse Guides for local recommendations in specific cities, with photos, hours, ratings, and reviews.

While the initial release focuses on these basic features, Apple says it plans to introduce additional functionalities of the native Maps app, like Look Around, in the coming months.

Currently, Maps on the web is available only in English, but Apple says support for additional languages and browsers "will be expanded over time."

Google Maps is currently the most popular mapping app in the US by downloads, followed by Waze, which is owned by Google, according to 2023 Statista data. Apple Maps didn't rank, perhaps because it's preinstalled on iPhones.
